The Chalet-Hotel la Chaumiere is a charming family-run, typically Savoyard chalet-style hotel. Dating back to 1934, it is the oldest hotel in Morzine and has remained with the same family through the generations. Our very good friends and neighbours, Michèle, Franck and family, own and manage the hotel, providing a welcoming, relaxed and ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere within very comfortable surroundings.

The hotel is available for weekend and midweek breaks, as well as for weekly holidays. Simply Morzine work closely with the hotel, both before and during your stay. We will be on hand to help and advise you upon arrival and throughout the duration of your holiday with us in Morzine.

The hotel benefits from a heated swimming pool, welcoming bar, cosy restaurant and comfortable lounge, all with beautiful furnishings. The 25 bedrooms have been equipped to a good standard with ensuite facilities, balcony, TV and telephone. Some rooms have extra beds and are large enough to accommodate families and extra adults. There is also a ski store and drying room. Within the hotel grounds are a pleasant summer garden and a spacious parking area

Prepared each day by Franck, hotel owner and resident chef, the restaurant offers a 4-course daily set menu of a high standard. Originally from the Côte d’Azur, Franck has lived in the Savoie Alps for over 25 years. During your stay you will sample typically French cuisine, together with local alpine specialities and some tastes from his Mediterranean homeland. The hotel can provide an earlier children’s meal and cater for special dietary requirements including vegetarians.

Morzine is one of Europe’s leading alpine resorts. The village is at the centre of the world’s largest internationally linked ski area, les Portes du Soleil, between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc in the French Alps. Morzine is very popular due the excellent snow record, traditional charm and good transport links. Morzine is easily accessible from the UK and Ireland, with an airport transfer of just over an hour from Geneva, or little over 8 hours drive from Calais.

Simply Morzine guests can take advantage of a complimentary ski/snowboard hosting (guiding) service, available on 3 days per week. A pre and post-skiing minibus shuttle service is available daily, should you not wish to walk or ski to or from your accommodation.

There is an array of non-skiing activities available including snow-shoeing, ice skating, tobogganing, paragliding, snow-scootering, husky riding and horse-drawn sleighs. For those less active, the village offers cultural and heritage visits, superb shops and a large choice of cafes, bars and restaurants.
