The Casa das Estevas is located in the beautiful, unspoilt traditional fishing village of Salema, near Lagos on Portugal’s Western Algarve. We have designed, constructed and furnished the villa to offer the ultimate in comfort and luxury, with no expense spared.

Salema is only 1 hour by car from Faro Airport, yet a world away in terms of the package holidays and over-development in the central Algarve.

The large open-plan lounge/dining room boasts a log fire, flat-screen television, DVD, hi-fi and original works of art. The comfortable sofas invite you to curl up and gaze out across the ocean through the patio doors which lead to the main balcony. Stairs wind down to the large pool, surrounding terrace, BBQ area and extensive games room with table tennis, table football, pool and darts.

Description |
The location is truly remarkable, one of the few beachfront properties along Portugal's Western Algarve, with all rooms and terraces facing south to uninterrupted views of the coastline and Atlantic Ocean.
With the ocean literally in front of you, you can hear the waves lapping onto the shore. Just 50 metres in front of the villa, is a secluded beach with golden sands, accessed via a gentle cliff path used by local fishermen. Salema's village centre and main beach are a short 5-minute stroll.
Salema is an excellent base from which to explore the Western Algarve, one of the last remaining unspoilt regions of southern Europe.
This region of southern Portugal boasts unrivalled opportunities for holidays in the spring, summer, autumn and winter, which can be as active or relaxing as you wish. Imagine sun filled days and balmy evenings, activities and entertainment, uncrowded Algarve beaches, contrasting landscapes, history, culture, great food and wine.
The Western Algarve is under one hour’s drive by motorway from Faro Airport, but could be a world apart. From the gentle and secluded coves around Salema to the remote wild shores of the west coast pounded by the full force of the Atlantic and a surfer’s paradise, this is like no other part of Portugal.
To the east are the historic ports of Portimao and Lagos, and to the north the cork forests and mountains of Monchique. To the south is the ocean, with Africa beyond. To the west is the wild western coast and Cape St Vincent, the most southwesterly point in continental Europe.
Once off the beaten track, the Western Algarve is tranquil and un- commercialised, where time genuinely seems to have stood still. The coastline varies from remote beaches and picturesque fishing villages to historic ports steeped in maritime tradition. Inland, the rolling countryside is speckled with quaint hamlets where the highlight of the week is the traditional open-air market, at which local folk gather to buy and sell their fresh produce and wares. |
